When is the Deadline to Apply?

| Applicants must submit their proposal by their prescribed deadline. (Usually up to 60 days) Please provide yourself ample time to submit your proposal in advance of your deadline. |

How often are grant proposals reviewed?
|
 |
| Grant Proposals are reviewed upon receipt. Final decisions and fund allocations are completed quarterly each year. (January, April, July & October) |

Who reviews grant proposals?
|

| Our Adjudication Committee and Review Panel is comprised of experienced business leaders and entrepreneurs that generously donate their time on a rotating basis. Review Panel members may also be donors to our grants fund. |

If my proposal is accepted, how soon until my grant proceeds are advanced?
|

| Upon acceptance, grant proceeds are advanced within 30 days. |

Am I guaranteed grant funding?
|

| Unfortunately not. We cannot guarantee your request for grant funds will be accepted, nor can we guarantee that if your application or proposal is accepted, that you will be awarded 100% of your desired funding request. |

Does the Leadership Grants Organization also provide loans?

| No, we are not a financial services company and do not provide business or personal loans. |

Do I need to pay a fee to apply for a Leadership Grant?

| No. Applications and Grant Proposals are accepted and reviewed free of charge. |

Will I be required to purchase any kind of ‘Guide’ or ‘Directory’?

| No, we do not sell anything to our Applicants at any time, nor are you required to purchase anything at any time. |

Will I be asked for personal information of a confidential nature?

If I apply for a Leadership Grant, am I precluded from acquiring funds elsewhere?

| No. There are no restrictions on applying for any other grant, loan or investor funding. In fact, you are encouraged to seek all avenues of funding available to launch or grow your business. |

If I am awarded grant proceeds, will I need to surrender a portion of my company or make future payments if my business is successful?

| No, there are no future obligations to us. |

| Unfortunately, we are not qualified to provide you with business advice or training. However, you can get free advice and information from contributing sponsors. Log in to your Resource Centre for details. |

Will Leadership Grants Organization assist me with qualifying as an Applicant?

| Yes. Upon receipt of your online inquiry, you will be assigned a representative or volunteer that will assist you in the process of qualifying as a Grant Applicant. |

| No, we cannot research or write your business plan or proposal. If you require assistance, our resource centre provides you with complimentary templates, resources and approved third-party professional service firms that may provide you with a free consultation. You can access the resource centre following submission of your online inquiry. |

What percentage of applicants successfully obtains a Grant?
|

| Almost 90% of applicants that submit a well-prepared business plan on time, demonstrate matching funds and meet eligibility requirements receive some form of cash award or in-kind funding.
In fact, about 80% of grant applications are rejected because the applicant failed to submit a business plan.

| What are reasons why my grant proposal may be rejected? |

- You failed to follow one or more of the submittal requirements.
- You failed to address one or more of the evaluation criteria.
- You failed to demonstrate a reasonable commitment to starting your business.
- One or more of your required proposal components was judged weak or non-responsive.
- Your budget or budget narrative was unrealistic or incomplete.
- Your proposal failed to adequately address the rationale for making grant funds available.
- Your proposal failed to clearly demonstrate a need for the funding.
- Your business undertaking is too ambitious relative to your skills or education.
- Your business type is not eligible for funding.
- Your proposed project is judged infeasible on legal or technical grounds.
- Your business was interpreted by the Review Panel as incoherent or un-convincing.
- Your business plan was un-compelling.
- You did not follow basic instructions for writing, assembling and submitting the grant proposal.
